MANIFESTO: THE DEMOCRACY OF THE NEXT HUMAN SPECIES
AND ITS
DUAL INTERPLAY OF HYPER-INDIVIDUALISM AND THE BIG COMMON
AND ITS
DUAL INTERPLAY OF HYPER-INDIVIDUALISM AND THE BIG COMMON
The future cyborg must learn how to manage its resources. An advanced understanding of economic flows connected to offer and demand is necessary for its survival. Here, the factor of time becomes essential. One must learn to see these flows and orchestrate them. We imagine a contemporary school, where human, nature and the digital co-exist, a new form of liberation of these elements. A linear platform, connecting the city of Hanstholm with Thy in an all public way, allowing a non-hierarchical base for the school to happen. Below, we place data storage. With the concern of strong winds, the main buildings facing the National Park, will function as shelter for the other volumes behind, while performing beautifully as a cooler for the data storage spaces. We took the opportunity of having the common space cantilevered over the edge, benefiting from the winds cooling the server halls.
We explored how to create courtyards and pocket-spaces, and how to fragment the volumes so that you are constantly reminded about the climate on site, and also enable common outdoor spaces where spontaneous activities and informal classes can take place. A transition zone between the public and the private.
We organized things in vertical, by putting the data in one level and the individual units on another. The two main components, the digital and the physical separated and in parallel with one another. This is enhancing their independence, speaking of them as two separate systems, on separate timelines yet still in strong connection with each other, in a constant relationship.
This manifesto stresses the need to explore, educate and practice the very essence of humans survival and existence. To live with the smallest possible footprint and learn to live self-sustainably with ones land. Let us celebrate the unlimited opportunities of hyper-individualism in correspondence with the collective big data. Let digital tools be tools, and humans be humans, together and independant in a parallel organized world where the dual existence of them two will show us what we really are capable of achieving!
